DFDS Seaways in North-East focus

DFDS Seaways is to replace seven-year incumbent BGB Communications with Robson Brown as part of its strategy to focus on the North-East.

The ferry operator runs a service to Scandinavia from the Essex port of Harwich, but most of its passengers travel from Newcastle. It moved its HQ to Newcastle two years ago.

MD John Crummie said an agency with a North-East presence would provide ‘major benefits' when it came to regional and local PR. BGB is based solely in London.

Robson Brown saw off Golley Slater in a pitch.
