Band & Brown in Pulse Rated task

Internet broadcaster Pulse Rated, which promotes unsigned bands in genres ranging from hip-hop to pop, has hired its first PR agency.

It has retained Band & Brown Communications to ‘target the national and music press in order to raise the profile of Pulse’ across the UK, said head of music Gill Rickson.

Pulse Rated has been operating in the UK for two years. It broadcasts via radio shows broadcast over the  internet and on Sky Digital channel 0155.

B&B is running the account via its office in Norwich, which is where Pulse is based. The office is seeking to recruit two members of staff to work on the account, the agency said.

Account director Kirstie Richardson leads the team, reporting to Pulse CEO Richard Labrum.

The first activity by B&B will be the UK media launch for the Pulse download site, www.pulserated.com.
