Podcast aided return of e-coli-hit nursery

It was good to read about Weber Shandwick's investment in a 'podcast studio' (Technology sector news, 16 June). Although smaller, Recognition has had a working studio since 2004.

It was used most recently in dealing with the e-coli outbreak at a nursery in Scotland. Our client, the nursery's owner, needed to communicate the measures it had implemented to ensure the nursery was safe for its reopening.

We prepared a video podcast, which was made available to parents on the company's website and to journalists on our own website.

The result was parents being supportive of the nursery's comms when they returned on opening day.
