Medicom in branding offshoot

Medicom Group has launched a separate design and branding consultancy called Medibrand as it extends beyond its PR and med ed roots.

Medibrand is owned jointly by co-founders  Stephen Page and Zuleika Burnett, as well as Medicom chairman and managing
director Martin Ellis.

Page, who becomes MD, and Burnett, now creative director, formerly worked at brand comms outfit Core-Create in London.

They have already started work at Medicom's Surrey offices, having left Core-Create last month.

Medibrand clients include medical equipment firm Eschmann Equipment, plus non-healthcare clients such as the Arts Council of England and Hutchison 3G UK. All were either ex-Core-Create clients or new business being developed while the duo were at the agency.
Ellis said: 'We are setting up Medibrand to capitalise on increasing demand for integrated branding within medical comms briefs.'

He added that Medibrand and Medicom would share clients. The two entities were due to pitch together for new business for the first time this Friday.

Page was UK MD and one of the founding partners of Core-Create, which was set up last year out of the merger of London firm Paper White and New Jersey-based Ribotsky Worldwide.
