Since taking up the post over two years ago, Porteous has created a corporate comms team containing 'media features' and speechwriting units.
The media features unit is designed to get features about DTI policy into consumer, specialist and trade press. The rest of the 40-strong team cover marketing, stakeholder relations, marketing procurement and publications. The department is split into three 'client groups': fair markets, energy and science, and innovation.
Porteous will take up the non-comms role of international director (oil, gas, business and engineering) on 24 April.
