Childline's Paddy joins Age Concern

Childline head of media Brendan Paddy is to join Age Concern as media manager in June.

Paddy, who was at Childline for a year, said he was offered a promotion as part of the charity's restructure after a merger with the NSPCC last year, but was persuaded to move by the public affairs focus of the Age Concern post.

'My new role will revolve around policy work,' explained Paddy.
'The debates over pensions, age discrimination and hospital treatment mean it is an interesting time to be involved in the age sector,' he added.

He will report to head of public affairs Michelle Mitchell, leading a team of six media officers.

Prior to joining Childline, Paddy held the head of media position at Amnesty International.
