MMD hires Colgan for Russian work

MOSCOW: MMD, the biggest corporate and public affairs agency in Central and eastern Europe, has appointed logistics firm UPS's PR manager for EMEA, Ursula Colgan, as CIS client director.

She took up the newly created post last week.

The agency's CIS regional director Stephen Lock said: 'This latest appointment demonstrates MMD's rapid growth in Russia and across the former Soviet bloc, particularly in areas such as financial PR and public affairs. The rates of growth are as surprising as the speed at which specialisation is becoming commonplace.'

Colgan served three years at UPS. Based in Brussels, she co-ordinated 15 agencies across Europe as well as leading crisis PR and handling pan-European business PR. Prior to that she worked in London for Grandfield PR for clients in the energy, legal and financial services sectors.

Lock runs the agency's operations in Moscow and Kiev as well as two offices in Kazakhstan.
