Huntsworth buys French agency

PARIS: Huntsworth has bought French corporate, tech and consumer PR shop Eurotandem as part of a deal worth up to £6m.

The 25-strong firm has merged with the 18-strong Paris office of Huntsworth-owned Trimedia Communications. Eurotandem president Remy Debrant and V-P Thierry Leguad have agreed a three-year earnout.

The merged firm will trade under the Trimedia name.

Eurotandem, whose clients include BT, Ask Jeeves, Opodo and Tourism Australia, had a fee income of £1.9m for the year to 31 December 2004 and made a pre-tax profit of £700,000.

Trimedia CEO Michael Murphy said the agency's existing French operation 'did not have sufficient scale in France compared with our other European operations'.
