H&K suffers major blow in H-P review

Hewlett-Packard has delivered a blow to Hill & Knowlton, transferring up to £2m of pan-European business to rivals Burson-Marsteller and Porter Novelli.

The rivals have captured the Europe briefs for H-P's Technology Solutions Group and Imaging and Printing Group respectively. They already handled them globally.

H&K retains H-P's £1m global corporate account – but market sources estimate it has lost much more in fees from the loss of Europe. The shift to B-M and PN is designed to simplify H-P's complex agency relations.

Amanda Groty, H&K EMEA V-P of client development, would not comment on possible job losses.
