Advicenow turns to Emmerdale

Legal advice charity Advicenow is using rural soap Emmerdale to raise awareness of its new Housing & Living Together guide.

Last year, the charity offered to advise ITV1 on any forthcoming episodes involving co-habiting couples. This Wednesday, character Nicola Blackstock discovered she will have to fight to get an even share of her house because the property is in her partner's name.

The charity's agency Amazon PR is in talks with nationals about running a feature on the back of the episode to coincide with the launch of Housing & Living Together on 8 February.

The agency will also use the storyline as a news hook for a campaign promoting the new leaflet in property and consumer rights press. Emmerdale's website carries a link to the Advicenow.org.uk website.
