Fuel wins race for Crawford portfolio

Dermatological treatment company Crawford Pharmaceuticals is to bring in agency backing to promote some of its top brands, including sunscreen SunSense.

Fuel PR was this week on the verge of signing a deal after what PRWeek understands was a pitch involving at least two other agencies.

Milton Keynes-based Crawford has significantly increased its product portfolio over the past year: Xclair, a non-steroidal cream to treat the eczema-like after-effects of radiation therapy, and Salinum, a saliva substitute for dry mouth conditions, both hit the market in November last year.

Three months previously the company acquired UK marketing and distribution rights to four products from Australian firm Ego Pharmaceuticals. The oil, solutions and soaps are all dry-skin treatments.

Details of the PR programme are still being finalised, but Fuel senior
account manager Louise Rowland is tipped to run the project alongside associate director of health and beauty Camilla Butterworth.
