Packer Forbes snaps up Remicade account

Packer Forbes Communications is to promote Schering-Plough’s Remicade brand in the UK this year.

The drug is one of Schering-Plough UK's most important and can treat a growing number of ailments, ranging from rheumatoid arthritis – its most significant use – to Crohn's disease.

At least four agencies pitched for the brief as part of the pharma firm's plans to overhaul its Remicade promotion. Approval is being granted for further uses, with a licence to treat ulcerative colitis expected shortly (PRWeek, 11 November 2005). Fees are expected to be at least £100,000.

Remicade has previously been promoted in its arthritis indication by Athena Medical PR.

Packer Forbes, led by MD Alexa Forbes, is to put a four-strong team on the business, run by account director Kerrie Mitchell. She started at the agency this week after a five-year stint at Cohn & Wolfe.

At C&W Mitchell worked for clients including Mundipharma, Procter & Gamble and GSK. She previously worked in Sydney for Burson-Marsteller.
