Cancer body nets model McAndrew

Cancer Research UK has signed up model Nell McAndrew to encourage people to get involved in its sponsored running events.

A priority will be drumming up support for Cancer Research UK's team in next year's London Marathon, which last year raised £1.3m for the charity.

It hopes McAndrew's involvement will generate coverage in national and health and fitness press, and boost the amount raised via the marathon to £1.5m.

McAndrew, who will represent the charity for the next two years, will also promote Cancer Research UK 10 – a series of 10km runs at stately home venues around the UK throughout 2006.
