Inverarity leaves Tulchan in relocation to Australia

Tulchan consultant Kate Inverarity is set to leave the company, and the UK, in the new year.

Inverarity, who is one of Tulchan's 11 senior consultants, is returning to her native Australia on maternity leave but is not expected to rejoin the agency.

Inverarity joined Tulchan 18 months after Andrew Grant set up the financial comms shop in 2000 as a breakaway from Brunswick, where Inverarity worked.

Although Grant confirmed Inverarity would probably not return to Tulchan, he held out the prospect of employing her again. He said: 'If Tulchan should open an office in Australia, who can say?'

Originally an audit and then corporate recovery consultant for KPMG Peat Marwick, Inverarity spent six years at Brunswick in New York and London before joining Tulchan.

Inverarity specialised in financial services, retail, media, telecoms and energy, and worked on several of Tulchan's biggest accounts, including M&C Saatchi, National Australia Bank and Woolworths.

Of particular note, she advised Woolworths on its demerger from Kingfisher, and Tempus during WPP's acquisition of the company.

She also worked in-house on secondment to Goldman Sachs, handling media relations during the bank's IPO, and at Pearson during a three-month stint with the Financial Times publisher's comms team.
