The audit at the council will cover advertising, media relations, design and print functions, corporate identity, and internal and electronic comms.
The DTW team is being led by board director Robin Treacher and account director Chris Taylor.
'Our work will include a training phase, to take place later this year, which will ensure that the recommendations generated through
the audit are implemented effectively throughout the council,' said Taylor.
