Charity Commission to appoint PA consultancy

The Charity Commission is on the hunt for a PA consultancy to help propel its leaders' visibility and influence among politicians and policy makers.

The search comes ahead of next month's expected Charities Bill and as the commission - which acts as the regulator and registrar for charities in England and Wales - bids to increase public trust and confidence in the charity sector.

Charity Commission head of comms Antony Robbins said a strategic review initiated last year by chairman Geraldine Peacock and chief executive Andrew Hind found a 'need to sharpen our communications focus'. Robbins added: 'The Charities Bill provides an excellent opportunity for us to engage better with Westminster and the Welsh Assembly.'

The commission is currently running a poster campaign to encourage members of the public to become charity trustees, under the tagline 'Get on board', with a particular focus on targeting ethnic minorities and young people.
