UAE airline hands global job to F-H

United Arab Emirates national carrier Etihad Airways has awarded its global PR account to Fleishman-Hillard.

F-H will jointly run a £56m integrated marketing and PR account from its London office, with sister Omnicom advertising agency TBWA.

Formed in 2003, Etihad has embarked on a rapid expansion programme to build its fleet, increase its routes from 17 to 70 by 2010, and position itself as one of the world's leading airlines.

Four Airbus A380 'super-jumbos' and five Boeing 777s formed part of £4.5bn-worth of orders at the 2004 Farnborough Air Show.

The airline's head of marketing Ian Ferguson-Brown said Etihad wanted to build on its winning of the 'Leading New Airline Award' at the 11th World Travel Awards last year.
