Public Affairs: Axa hires Cicero alongside APCO

Insurance giant Axa is poised to hand Cicero Consulting the lion's share of its public affairs account but has reappointed APCO to handle its PPP healthcare insurance business.

The move follows what was intended to be a winner-takes-all pitch, encompassing Axa's healthcare, life and general insurance arms, as well as support at group level. Axa previously used different agencies for each business division.

Although APCO continues to handle healthcare work, Cicero will now service all other divisions.

Axa UK head of communications Sam Hunter said Cicero had been enlisted initially to undertake a 'scoping study' and that it was 'likely' to award the agency a formal contract in August.
