Media Relations: Sir Jimmy Saville to fix it for Velcro

Adhesive products manufacturer Velcro is kicking off a 'fix it for you' media campaign featuring Sir Jimmy Saville next week.

Manchester-based agency Communique PR will target lads' magazines, women's consumer press and tabloids with a selection of photos of Saville demonstrating Velcro-branded products.

It will also use a series of quick-fix DIY columns, 'top tip' guides, competitions and giveaways as part of the 'fun but practical' strategy.

Communique group head Dawn Lappin said the campaign brief was to 'educate people and explain that Velcro offers a massive range of products people might not be aware of'.
