City & Corporate: Crampton joins SABMiller team

SABMiller has hired Brunswick consumer industries associate James Crampton to join its media relations team.

Crampton, who has worked at Brunswick for the past five years, joins SABMiller as media relations manager and reports to head of media relations Nigel Fairbrass.

At Brunswick, Crampton worked on the firm's accounts with luxury goods company Pinault Printemps Redoute, which owns Gucci, as well as hotel and health club business De Vere.

Last week SABMiller posted a 58 per cent rise in pre-tax profits from £758m to £1.1bn for the year to 31 March 2005.

The group said that the rise was due to better economic conditions in South Africa and growth in its European, African and Asian businesses.
