Voluntary Sector: Spink leads kids' feet campaign

The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists is warning parents that children's feet can be permanently damaged by incorrect footwear.

The society wants to encourage parents and teachers to take a greater interest and responsibility in the health of children's feet.

Spink Communications has been hired to raise awareness of June's Feet for Life Month.

The agency will publicise advice for children, parents and teachers on how to choose the correct shoes for children.

It will urge parents to seek treatment from a registered podiatrist if they suspect their child may have poor foot health.

Local society members and NHS podiatrists will be conducting local Feet for Life activities, such as visiting schools and shopping centres, to raise awareness of the campaign.

National and local newspapers will be targeted, along with TV and radio.
