Media Relations: Wine brand plays on Englishness

Kent-based winery Chapel Down is using a media campaign to prompt product trial. It is promoting the brand's Englishness, the food it complements and the fact that the vineyard is a wedding venue.

Chapel Down marketing manager Caroline Stockley said the agency will target broadsheet food and travel supplements, food, fashion, bridal and travel magazines.

It has hired Tunbridge Wells-based Hamilton PR, after completing a rebrand of all its wines under the premium Chapel Down label.

Hamilton won the brief without a pitch and will be retained by Chapel Down for an initial six-month period, Stockley said.
