Healthcare: Huntington takes top Lilly UK comms post

Eli Lilly has parachuted in PA and public policy specialist Erin Huntington from its Washington operations to fill its most senior UK PR job.

Huntington will arrive in a fortnight as director of corporate affairs UK, a position vacated by Maxine Taylor, who is joining Cancer Research (PRWeek, 4 February).

Lilly - the firm behind antidepressant Prozac - will review the size of its UK comms team.

In a statement, Lilly said: 'Erin's appointment provides the opportunity to review corporate affairs.'

Lilly UK has around 15 comms staff spread across four divisions: NHS and government relations, product comms, corporate relations and internal comms and health outcomes.

Huntington is currently in the Washington-based role of global government affairs manager (Europe); she has also held roles as manager of international public and government relations (Latin America and Canada).

She is a former legislative assistant for Republican senator Richard Lugar.
