The award will go to a living writer for their contribution to fiction and will take place on 27 June. World-famous writers such as Margaret Atwood, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Ian McEwan are on the 18-strong shortlist.
'We will concentrate our efforts in the countries that the writers are from, such as the US and South America as well as target the national and Scottish press, the travel, publishing and tourism trade press and arts and news broadcast programmes,' said Colman Getty associate director Rebecca Salt.
The campaign will also feature a series of local events in shops, schools, universities and libraries across Edinburgh, first Unesco city of literature, to promote the awards.
Colman Getty's London office manages the Man Booker Prize.
