In a raft of healthcare staff changes at the agency's office in the US capital, Anna McCollister-Slipp has moved from Manning Selvage & Lee (MS&L) to become S-VP and practice director; she replaces Reyn Archer, who is to fill the newly created position of US director of health policy.
H&K Washington has also hired Jeffrey Levine, a former health reporter at CNN, as SV-P of healthcare media relations.
The appointments are 'a recognition that Washington is playing a much more significant role in the healthcare arena', said McCollister-Slipp.
Lieberman has formerly worked for US drugs giant Pfizer as director of policy, planning and communication, and at APCO Associates. She has most recently been active on the speakers' circuit.
Levine, meanwhile, spent more than a decade of his 18 years at CNN covering health and medical news. He joined as one of the original 300 journalists when CNN first aired in 1980.
He has since worked for PR firm Ketchum and the American Institutes for Research, where he was health comms director.
McCollister-Slipp was a senior V-P at MS&L Washington and worked for clients including Eli Lilly. She was previously an associate director at MS&L London.
She has also formerly held roles as director of public affairs at both Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, a US-funded news service that broadcasts in eastern Europe, and Washington-based think-tank the Cato Institute.
