Incepta pulls the plug on CDC arm

Incepta, the marcoms group which owns The Red Consultancy and Citigate Dewe Rogerson, has closed its investor relations data company CDC with the loss of up to 32 jobs worldwide.

The group said in its pre-close of trading update that CDC had been shut down as part of its ‘continued focus on global communications consultancies’ at a cost of around £1m.

CDC was expected to make an operating loss of £1.5m for 2005.

The company supplies data to Incepta’s shareholder analysis and IR firm Citigate Financial Intelligence, which is in the midst of a restructure that will also cause job losses (PRWeek, 21 January).
