MG Sports hires Red for supercar

MG Sports & Racing has hired The Red Consultancy to handle consumer PR for the launch of high-performance ‘supercar’ the XPower SV, which it is positioning to compete with Porsche.

The company wants Red to use celebrity and brand link-ups that emphasise the exclusive nature of the car to drive sales over the Christmas period and into 2005.

Red won the £50,000 project after a four-way pitch and plans to target high earners.

Each car can be made to its owner’s specifications.
