Diary: Let's do lunch - The Zetter Restaurant & Rooms

Although Zetter is named after its location in the old pools company offices, it's not a gamble having lunch or breakfast here.

I'm drawn to it because it has space, an exciting menu and staff who just seem to really love working the room. And it's a great room with double-height windows depicting calming views over St John's Square in Clerkenwell (or as my estate agent calls it, 'trendy Clerkenwell').

I have to admit I eat here at least twice a week, and although that may seem a bit sad, Zetter really grows on you. Great fresh Italian food, strong clean flavours and a menu that seems to change daily. It's no wonder I've not succumbed to venue fatigue.

I'd never been excited about pumpkin and amaretti ravioli until I tried it here recently. The thought of all that heavy pasta filled me with the fear of a 4pm coma but a lightly placed sauce, beautiful presentation and not too much on the plate made this a simply excellent dish.

Clients, staff and journalists from well-respected trade publications seem drawn to the easy vibe, great service and space to talk properly.

If you're one of those who believes it's not just what you eat, but where you eat, you'll be right at home here.
