Cake to plug Elvis ad for Kingsmill

Allied Bakeries has called in Cake to handle PR around its latest advertising push for Kingsmill, a ‘mockumentary’ TV and radio campaign involving Elvis Presley.

The Cake team, which is headed by media director Clare Craven and reports to Allied marketing controller for the brand Jo Sykes, has been hired on a project basis.

PR work kicks off next week to coincide with the launch of the ad push. Craven said the campaign will target the national and trade press and include bread-based puns such as ‘Are you loafsome tonight?’

Hill & Knowlton is the retained agency for the brand.
