PN nets BBC man as media expert

Porter Novelli has hired BBC News presenter Ben McCarthy as its first head of media relations.

McCarthy will provide media insight across PN’s business units and develop the agency’s relationship with the media.

He reports to managing director Fiona Joyce and European development director Sally Williams.

McCarthy began his career in local radio before moving to Sky. He spent seven years as an ITN correspondent and joined the BBC in 2001, where he interviewed Ian Huntley days before the killer’s arrest.
