London fire body enlists Tribal MPC

The London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority has drafted in Tribal MPC to manage communications on an interim basis following the departure of head of comms Liz Dickens to Kent Police in June.

Tribal MPC won the business after a competitive pitch. Director James Flynn is acting head of comms.

Flynn will stay in the role until a replacement is found, which is expected to be early next year.

Government plans to modernise the fire service by changing pay structures and fire-fighting equipment led to controversial strikes in 2002.
