SRA drafts in help for rail handover

Passenger franchiser and rail infrastructure developer, The Strategic Rail Authority (SRA), has brought in management consultancy First Class Partnerships on fees of £240,000, as it prepares to hand over its responsibilities to central government.

SRA comms director Ceri Evans said he had appointed First Class following a five-way pitch earlier this year (PRWeek, 18 February).

The brief has a focus on how the SRA communicates the transition of its powers to train operating firms, rail investors and infrastructure companies.

First Class’s two-year contract stretches beyond the abolition of the authority, which will take place within the next 15 months.
