Merloni splits top PR role ahead of Indesit rebrand

Fabriano, ITALY: Italian white goods manufacturer Merloni Elettrodomestici has split its top PR role, following the exit of comms and external relations director Andrea Prandi as it prepares to rebrand as Indesit.

It has promoted Alfonso Patruno to the new role of head of comms international and Anna Angelini as head of comms – Italy. Angelini continues in her post of head of comms for UK and Western Europe. Patruno will be based at the firm’s headquarters in Italy.

In addition, Chiara Pascarella has joined in the newly created post of comms manager for new Europe, which covers Eastern Europe and Russia.

The company, which acquired the Hotpoint brand in 2001, is the largest white goods manufacturer in the UK.

Explaining the rebrand, Paul Donlon, associate partner at Financial

Dynamics, which provides the firm with UK corporate comms support, said: ‘The company grew by 30 per cent when it bought Hotpoint, so it has looked for a name which is recognisable across Europe.’

Patruno will be based at the company’s headquarters in Italy.
