Diary: Comms mag could keep Evans on rails

With the Strategic Rail Authority set to be shunted into the scrapyard next year, PRWeek couldn't help but wonder down which line comms director Ceri Evans could re-route his career.

Evans is in robust form when we call, and proudly discloses his plan to launch a 'campaigning communications magazine'.

'This is something I'm developing, but it's very early days,' says the former campaign chief for Steve Norris's first mayoral bid. He is keen to stress that he and his PR team 'remain committed to the SRA', which 'will require a full comms function for another year'.

He adds that his magazine is likely to be 'about campaigning, polling and research' and that he already has two ready backers.

Lobbyists will be watching closely to see what the former Ludgate divisional boss will deliver.
