Crown Estate’s Belcher to quit

Property owner The Crown Estate’s head of communications Irene Belcher is quitting next month after eight years.

Belcher, who has recently driven communications for the group’s £500m development of London’s Regent Street, will be replaced in the interim by Emma Twyman, who was contracted to cover Belcher’s recent maternity leave.

According to Belcher, the post will not be advertised until the New Year, pending the planned expansion of the communications department with the appointment of a press officer and project manager.

‘The role has expanded a lot in the past two years to cover things such as Regent Street, so the appointments will be made first,’ she said.

Interviews for the positions are scheduled for next month.

Belcher joined the organisation as deputy head of comms, replacing Gill Coates in the top role four years ago to oversee PA, events, publications and internal and electronic comms.
