Freeport malls in revamp push

Shopping centre operator Realm is to undertake a national and regional media relations drive for its four Freeport centres to explain a programme of redevelopment.

Three Freeport shopping villages in Braintree, Castleford and Fleetwood, and its indoor mall at Talke, are to undergo redevelopment over the next 12 months.

Realm has hired Primal PR to handle all media relations that will include a series of launch events and sales promotions for the four locations.

The campaign mixes both local and national media targets as Realm attempts to increase the catchment areas for the improved sites.

Realm was appointed in March to manage the four centres, valued at a maximum of £245.5m, one month after Freeport sold the properties to Hermes Pensions Management.
