The alliance is spearheaded by The Health Foundation and includes campaign charities such as The British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK and Cancer Research, think-tanks, NHS bodies and the Association of The British Pharmaceutical Industry.
The organisations will host joint receptions at all three major party conferences, as well as holding a range of their own fringe meetings under one roof at the Labour Party conference.
The alliance wants to cut duplication of effort and maximise collective impact.
‘With health at the top of the agenda for the general election campaign, we believe the Health Hotel is a great opportunity to promote fresh ideas and fresh thinking about the priorities for the next government,’ said the initiative’s project manager Martina Bohn.
It has signed The Times Public Agenda and Health Service Journal as the Health Hotel’s media partners, with coverage in the run-up to and during the party conferences.
As well as the debates, the Labour conference will offer delegates health checks provided by ABPI members and nutritional advice provided by J Sainsbury.
