Beacon to push commercial arm

Beacon, the UK’s largest purchasing group for the independent hospitality trade, is to launch a PR drive to attract customers from outside the hospitality industry.

Beacon is to use local media to build its reputation among SMEs for its Beacon Commercial venture that launched in March to cater for non-hotel and leisure business.

The campaign by Lynx PR will also target hospitality trade press to position Beacon as an expert on buying trends and to encourage current clients to take advantage of the range of products it procures, including food, drink, refurbishment, linen and stationery.

As the buying arm of Best Western, Beacon purchases on behalf of its 320 hotels in the UK, as well as for more than 2,000 independent operators, including hotels, restaurants, golf clubs and leisure centres.
