Reg Vardy lines up FD to replace Bell Pottinger

Car dealership Reg Vardy is set to drop Bell Pottinger Corporate & Financial, its financial PR adviser of more than ten years.

Reg Vardy finance director Robert Forrester said BPC&F remained the company’s agency of record and declined to comment on whether Reg Vardy would be changing its retained financial PR firm.

But PRWeek understands that Financial Dynamics is set to take over the account without a competitive pitch.

BPC&F director Charlotte Lambkin leads the team that advises Reg Vardy, reporting to Forrester and CEO Sir Peter Vardy.

Based in Sunderland, the ambitiously expanding group recently announced record pre-tax profits of £46.3m for the year ended 30 April, up 16 per cent from £39.7m for the same period in the previous year.

The company increased its number of dealerships from 73 to 91 over the same period.

Reg Vardy has expanded significantly through acquisition this year, buying three sites in Leeds, Edinburgh and Livingston from the Renault Retail Group. The deal made Reg Vardy Renault’s largest independent retail partner in the UK.

Reg Vardy dates back to the 1920s when the company’s eponymous founder began a haulage business at Houghton-le-Spring near Durham.
