Diary: Let's Do Lunch - Le Petit Blanc

Founded by celebrity chef Raymond Blanc and now part of the Lock Fyne Restaurant Group, Le Petit Blanc is an ideal city centre location for both business and one-to-one journalist lunches.

The restaurant is light and spacious, with traditional table and chair seating in the centre of the dining area. Cosy blue leather booths are set along one side. The decor is simple but welcoming and the service friendly and efficient.

Raymond Blanc, who maintains a share in the business, continues to be involved in the creation of the menu. This has something for every taste with a wide choice of delightful fish, meat and poultry dishes.

Two and three-course menus are also available at lunchtimes and are great value (£13 for two courses), but choice is limited. If you have the time and appetite, the desert menu is mouth-watering and tempting.

Le Petit Blanc can get busy, but the environment remains relaxing and calm. As tables are fairly well spaced apart, you don't sense that others are listening to your conversation.

If you want to invite a larger group for a more exclusive business meeting, Le Petit Blanc has four dining rooms that can be used for private functions.

For a business lunch you can't really go wrong with the decent food and pleasant, calm environment.
