There was no formal pitch process according to director Debora Freire, who said the agency was selected on the basis of market recommendations. Altitude formerly worked with local agency Companhia da Informacao.
Dfreire will handle media relations, media training and a clippings service. Account director Anna Lucia Franca will manage the account along with a further agency staffer, reporting to Altitude's marketing director Caroline Sartori.
According to Freire, Altitude is also considering the agency for its other Latin American accounts. 'We are negotiating with Altitude an extension of our agreement to the entire region. In this case, we would provide services through our network of partner agencies,' she said.
Altitude is a privately held company, with Spain's Santander bank among its shareholders. It has 600 customers across 45 countries and nine offices worldwide. In Brazil, the company has 50 employees in Sao Paulo, it's central office for Latin America.
