Walker appointed Broadgate chair

Financial services PR shop Broadgate has appointed Michael Walker as non-executive chairman to fill the void left by the death of Bill Johnstone last year.

Walker is chairman and senior partner of Scotland’s largest law firm Maclay Murray & Spens and is also a director of John Menzies and Securities Trust of Scotland.

His main responsibilities as chairman will be to advise Broadgate on strategic decisions such as whether to make acquisitions.

Broadgate’s main clients include Alexander Forbes, Baillie Gifford, Bank of New York and HSBC Republic Investments.

Johnstone was an ex-director of fund manager Aberdeen Murray Johnstone and died last year at the age of 52.
