ACS in local shop lobbying drive

The Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) is aiming to improve its parliamentary lobbying by assigning retailers in each constituency to liaise directly with their local MP.

ACS members are being contacted to take the role of ‘campaign champions’ in a bid to personalise lobbying efforts.

According to Tina Carey, managing director of the association’s retained PR agency Tansor Public Relations, store managers and owners will liaise with MPs about retail crime, closures of local shops and post offices, and transparency regarding buying prices.
