Olympus changes UK comms focus

Camera giant Olympus UK has dropped seven-year incumbent Herald Communications to shake up its comms efforts to promote associations with events, influencers and celebrities.

Olympus marketing communications manager Andy Parker said the appointment of August.One Communications reflected its need for new ideas to stand out in the media. ‘We are moving forward fast with new products and breakthrough technologies,’ he said.

PR activity will focus on journalist-focused events leading up to the PhotoKina trade show in September, and will use associations with photography, sport and design celebrities to interest photographic, lifestyle and style titles.
