Durham in Skills for Life initiative

County Durham Learning Partnership is to run a campaign to boost the adoption of Skills for Life courses.

The mostly free further education courses tackle literacy, numeracy and language needs among adults at all levels.

The partnership is made up of 23 local resource providers and works with the Government’s Skills for Life strategy.

It has taken on Karol Marketing to handle the push, which will target regional media, including TV, radio and press, with media relations activity, as well as events and award ceremonies.

Karol Marketing account executive Emma Pybus said: ‘The main aim is to get people to a basic level and improve their quality of life.’
