Pan Pacific plans business drive

Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts is set to position itself as a regional expert in business customs in a media relations campaign to reintroduce the hotel brand to business travellers and corporate event co-ordinators.

Pan Pacific UK director of sales Andrew Harvey said the campaign will draw on the fact that the hotels retain unique characters reflecting their locations, setting them apart from competitors such as Shangri-La.

The chain, which boasts 23 four and five-star hotels in 11 countries, has appointed BGB & Associates to raise its profile in titles such as the Travel Trade Gazette and in-flight magazines. Harvey said the campaign would address the perception that Pan Pacific is a predominantly Asian group by pushing its four hotels in Canada and the US.

BGB will also promote Pan Pacific’s membership of the Global Hotel Alliance which incoporates 235 hotels.
