Diary: Halpern secures Sloane area brief

One of the appalling stereotypes associated with this industry is that (too) many PROs bear (too) many similarities to the Sloaney types of London's King's Road.

So PRWeek delights in hearing that Jenny Halpern's eponymous agency has been hired to promote London's 'Sloane area' as a 'stylish shopping destination'.

The King's Road-based agency has been briefed by property developer Cadogan to promote the area, according to a press release, which gushes: 'The Sloane area is fast becoming the preferred lifestyle shopping destination in London.'

'Fast becoming'? Some mistake, surely.

Halpern senior account manager Sarah Gellately-Smith says the push will promote events in the area, such as the relaunch of the Peter Jones department store.

Still, we are always happy to record account wins that might tickle readers who are interested in these ghastly industry stereotypes.
