Ruder Finn unveils online tracker

Ruder Finn has developed a real-time online media-tracking system (MTS) for pharmaceutical client Novartis and has made it available to other companies.

Ruder Finn deputy managing director Pat Pearson said the tool provided real-time detailed analysis of how a company’s news, products or issues are being covered in all media, and could be accessed by the client immediately.

According to Pearson, consultancies in the past have used press clipping companies to provide this function, but this has meant that at least 24 hours can separate coverage from delivery of the analysis.

Although the MTS does not do away with manual inputting of the media analysis, it does automatically feed results into real-time presentations that can be tailored to a client’s needs, and which the client can access online at any time.
