Child heart disease charity announces wider focus

Medical charity Left Heart Matters is to relaunch today (Friday) as Little Hearts Matter with an expanded focus covering all incurable congenital heart diseases in children. The charity previously only covered hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

The charity’s new brand identity and name will be unveiled at an event at the House of Lords fronted by the charity’s patron Baroness Howarth of Breckland. Regional events will also take place at cardiac centres across the country, including Guys Hospital in London, Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool and the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

PR for the launch is being handled by Third Sector PR, which reports to the charity’s director Suzie Hutchinson.

Third Sector director Emma Thom said Little Hearts Matter was planning to launch its first campaign under the new name later this year.

Project Enable will target children with heart conditions and make relevant advice available to them.
