Lexis PR starts OTC division with Roche win

Consumer agency Lexis PR has launched an OTC healthcare practice and has scooped a contract from Roche Consumer Health as its first client. Liz Jones has joined as head of healthcare and will lead a campaign promoting caffeine tablets Pro Plus, cystitis remedy Cystopurin and travel-sickness brand Kwells.

The account was formerly held by Fuel Public Relations, which Jones quit in

November and where she led the account.

Jones said she planned to recruit staff with relevant experience but in the interim would draw on internal resources to service the Roche account.

Prior to Fuel Public Relations, where she worked for two years, Jones was head of UK OTC healthcare for BSMG Worldwide.

Roche Consumer Health continues to work with Cohn & Wolfe for Sanatogen and Berocca, and with Counsel on Rennie and Deflatine. Other Roche Consumer Health products, such as painkiller brand Feminax, do not currently retain external support.

Lexis formerly worked on Wyeth Consumer Health’s Anadin, but the account was taken in-house last December.
